Teaching and learning

Yeronga State School recognises the evolving needs of 21st Century learners and is endeavouring to provide a curriculum of digitally rich and challenging experience, while enabling students to work in a safe online environment and practise ethical use of digital resources

All Yeronga teachers have been provided with a laptop, most through the Queensland government computers for teachers scheme and all are traveling through the Smart Classrooms professional development framework.

The Department of Education and Training operates a standardised platform. All Education Queensland computers are built on a Managed Operating Environment (MOE) and all networks can only be worked on by qualified orange card holders. Hardware and software is purchased from Government Information Technology Certified (GITC) suppliers. Yeronga State School employs an ‘orange card’ systems technician four hours per week.
