Religious instruction

PublishingPageContent

We would like to inform you about the Religious Instruction (RI) arrangements currently in place at Yeronga State School.

Religious instruction is provided to students who are members of a faith group External link that has approval to deliver religious instruction at the school and/ or parents have indicated that they wish their children to participate in the available program.

Religious leaders External link who wish to provide religious instruction to students of their faith group apply to the principal in writing External link to establish a single External link (one faith group only) or cooperative arrangement External link (more than one faith group working together). At Yeronga State School a Christian cooperative arrangement is available.

Upon enrolment parents of child/ren participating in these programs will be advised if a faith group requires funds to cover the expense of materials used in RI. Classroom teachers can inform parents when RI is held each year.

Students are allocated to RI based on information provided by parents on the completed Enrolment application form (PDF, 2.6MB) unless other written instructions have been provided to the school.

Note: This information remains operational unless the parent informs the school otherwise in writing. If you wish to change this please contact the office

Students who are not participating in RI will be provided with other instruction in a separate supervised location. Other instruction must relate to part of a subject area already covered in class.
