At our school, learning is a shared journey that inspires curiosity, confidence, and a love of discovery. From Prep to Year 6, our conceptual curriculum is guided by the Australian Curriculum, Version 9, and shaped by the key themes of Belonging, Connection, Discovery, and Contribution.
Through a balance of explicit teaching and inquiry-based learning, students build strong foundational skills while exploring big ideas that help them understand themselves, others, and the world around them. Explicit instruction is a vital part of our approach, ensuring students develop the essential knowledge, skills, and understandings they need for success. Clear learning intentions, guided practice, and purposeful feedback support every child to achieve their best and become confident, capable learners.
Through our inquiry approach, students are encouraged to embrace the dispositions of an inquirer, inspired by Kath Murdoch’s Learning Assets — to Be a Thinker, Self-Manager, Contributor, Communicator, and Researcher. This helps them grow as reflective, confident, and independent learners.
We nurture each child’s unique strengths and encourage them to think deeply, act kindly, and make meaningful contributions within our caring school community and beyond.
