To enrol in Prep your child needs to turn five by June 30 of the year in which they start. You can check when your child is eligible for Prep using the Queensland Government’s
Prep Ready Reckoner.
Prep is a full time program.
Children attend school Monday to Friday
(8.50am - 3.00 pm.)

The following information pertains to enrolments for the next school year:
Please note that we are an enrolment-managed school and may not necessarily be able to accept students from out of
catchment.
All applications (whether in or out of catchment) require a copy of your child's birth certificate (or passport) and two proof of residency documents.
For those in-catchment, we encourage you to send in your enrolment application as early as possible (once school starts) in the year prior to your child starting. We do
not accept enrolments more than a year ahead. Please use the enrolment form in the quick links menu to the right.
If
out-of-catchment we ask that you first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)application and you will be placed on a waiting list in order of receipt. Please make sure you submit a copy of your child's birth certificate (or passport if overseas) and 2x proof of residency documents as well.
If vacancies exist towards the end of that year, then places will be offered to those on the waiting list (strictly in order of receipt).
The opening date for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Prep students will be towards the end of Term 1 in the year before entry is required.
For
2025 Prep entry, out-of-catchment EOI applications will open Monday 20th May 2024.
Prep information session
Our Prep Information Sessions are an opportunity for parents and carers to learn about our school and how our Prep teachers make the first year of school special.
Prep 2025 Information Sessions will be held on April 23 2024 at 6.00pm in the Resource Centre, all are welcome.
Prep enrolment
To enrol your child in our Prep program download our Enrolment Application or Expressions of Interest form (refer to Related Links on the top right of this page) or contact the school office (Mon-Fri 8am -3.30pm Ph. (07) 3426 0333).
Completed Enrolment or Expression of Interest Applications can be emailed to
enrolments@yerongass.eq.edu.au, or dropped in at the office. Please note that if you are not in our catchment area you will be placed on a waiting list and offered a place only if we have spare capacity. Places will be offered in order of receipt.
Once your child has been accepted, you will be offered an interview from Term 3 onwards. The interview will be in a group setting held in the new Curiosity Centre. Your child will need to attend this interview with you. Please make sure you download the information listed in 'enrolling at our school' (see tab at top left) and acquaint yourself with our expectations and procedures. It is preferred that you do this before your interview to streamline the procedure.
Prep orientation morning
Our Prep Orientation Morning is an opportunity for parents and children who are enrolled for 2025 to visit the school and experience our Prep classrooms. This helps to ensure a smooth start to the new year. Closer to the day parents will receive an invitation to book uniform fitting.
Our Prep Orientation Morning will be held after Prep discussion sessions have been completed.
