At home access

Education Queensland (EQ) allocates a unique username to each student upon enrolment.  This does not change for their time at an EQ school.  Passwords are changed every 60 days.

Prep, year 1 and most year 2 students use a generic username and password to log on at school for general use and access to the internet, software and student applications.  To access The Learning Place, however, an individual log-on is required. This is managed by class teachers and information is available from class teachers.  If a teacher is using individual log-ons they will notify parents.

All year 4 to 7 students manage their own password in conjunction with their unique username. From year 3, students use their own unique username, which is allocated when they first enrol in an Education Queensland school and travels with them.  For terms 1 to 3 they use a cohort-wide generic username. In term 4, individual passwords are introduced.

Once an incorrect password/username has been used three times, the user is locked out. Class teachers can re-set passwords at any time.

Generally, home access to the internet and The Learning Place for learning, assignments and some homework is expected.  Students experiencing difficulty accessing a computer or the internet at home may access the  Resource Centre lab during first break when teacher supervision is provided.
